Sam was a beautiful Dog he was a corgi cross. He was found by police as a stray. My family were
thing of having a dog before and my dad thought of taking him on till his ownership was claimed
however noone picked him up and he was then ours. We picked him up in February 2001 and he was
shaking and depressed, he felt happier as soon as we took him home. A family friend came round that
night to talk about him and gave us her 'deceased' dog's belongings to us for us to use. She named
him sam as he picked up quickly on that name. Sam was a very charismatic dog and always attracted
attention when he went out for walks. however, he was a middle aged dog and soon developed
illnesses. He often became sickly on and off and was diagnosed with a liver complaint. Later in that
year of 2001, he began to lose his sight and lost a lot of weight. He was diagnosed with diabetes in
early 2002, and mananged to save him before he got any worse. He perked up in time but had to adapt
to his blindness. In June 2003, he began to get sickness and his diabetes made it hard for his body
to heal. He was rushed to the vets and was put on a drip with antibiotics. Soon, he went a bit down
hill then perked up later. Soon he was getting better and had to be fed by syrynge. It was like that
for a week and he began to eat normally and he suddenly began to have fits. My grandad took the dog
to the vets and he seemed to suffer badly from it that it could lead to brain damage, the best
option was to put him down just a week before my 15th birthday. I'll never forget sam, he was the
only dog I grew up with. R.I.P
valentines is not just for people, its for all of those animals who have touched our lives and our hearts. Those we still love so dearly, and who undoubtedly still love us.
Thinking of our very special friends today and always with love & fondest memories ~~X~~
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this -- the last battle -- can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you
Who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close -- we two -- these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

Beyond the Rainbow
As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.
I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.
I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.
For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.

For Sam ,xxx.
Have you a dog in Heaven, Lord?
Is there room for just one more?
Cause my little dog died today;
he'll be waiting at your door.
Please take him into Heaven, Lord.
And keep him there for me,
just feed him, pet him, love him, Lord,
that’s all he'll ask of Thee.
